Checkerboard Arch is a fun hike on the east side of Zion National Park. This is not a maintained route and gets little foot traffic.
Zion National Park is one of the most incredible places in the world. It is a haven for hikers, climbers, canyoneers and tourists flocking to the park just to get a glimpse of the spectacular monolithes and deep carved canyons in this small corner of Southern Utah. The nearby Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and the hiking areas between Zion and the Staircase are often discussed in this blog as well.
